Mailsmith v1.x (Mac) - Account Setup
If you're having difficulty setting up your email account with Mailsmith version 1.5, follow these instructions.
The following example is illustrated using Mailsmith v1.5.4 on the MacOS X.
Select Window...Email Accounts...
This will bring up the following window:
Click on the New... button in the upper left corner. That brings up the following dialog box:
| Account Name | The account name needs only to be a name by which you will recognize this account (e.g. My Deep Sky Account) |
Clicking Create brings back the previous window, only now with the account name in the box on the left:
Make sure the Leave Mail on Server box is unchecked and fill in the following information:
| POP Server Name | Your POP3 Host is mail.deepskytech.com |
| User ID | Your POP3 Account ID is username%yourdomain.com |
| Password | Your password is personally given to you |
Click on the button for Make Default and then click on the middle tab, Sending, and the window looks like this:
Fill in the following information:
| Sender's Name | Put your full name here (e.g. Joe Smith) |
| SMTP Server Name | Your SMTP Server is yourdomain.com |
| Default Domain | Your default domain is yourdomain.com |
| Reply Address | This is your email address: username@yourdomain.com |
Now click on the right tab, Advanced, and the window looks like this:
| SMTP User ID | Your SMTP User ID is username%yourdomain.com |
| SMTP Password | Your SMTP User Password is personally given to you and is the same as above |
Verify that Allow ESMTP is checked and click on the Save button to save the new account settings.
Exit out of this window.
You can now send and receive email with your Deep Sky account.
