Netscape v7.x (Mac) - Account Setup

If you're having difficulty setting up Netscape version 7 (Mac) for use with your Deep Sky email account, follow these instructions.

The following example is illustrated using Netscape v7.02.0.

Click on the Mail icon in the upper left corner:

The following window comes up:

Clicking on Create a new account brings up the following window:

Strike the Return key or click on Next to bring up the next window:

Your Name	Your real name goes here
Email Address	Your email address is username@yourdomain.com

Once you've entered that information, hit Return to bring up the next window:

Server Type	Your incoming server is a POP server
Incoming Server	Your incoming server is mail.deepskytech.com

Hit Return and the following window comes up:

User Name

Your User Name is username%yourdomain.com

Striking Return brings up the next window:

Account Name

The account name needs only to be a name by which you will recognize the account (e.g. My Deep Sky Account)

Return brings up the next window:

Verify that the information matches, click Finish and you are done. If, however your Outgoing Server Name (SMTP) does not match, click Finish and proceed with the following instructions:

Once you click Finish, the next window to come up is the following:

Make sure the account you just set up (in this case My Deep Sky Account) is highlighted in the frame on the left side.

Click on View settings for this account. You will see the following window:

In the box on the left, click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) and the final window comes up:

Server Name	Your SMTP server is yourdomain.com
User Name	Same as previously: username%yourdomain.com

When done entering this information, click on OK. You can now send and receive email with your Deep Sky acount.
