PowerMail v4.x (Mac) - Account Setup
If you're having difficulty setting up your email account with PowerMail version 4.1, follow these instructions.
The following example is illustrated using PowerMail v4.1.3 on the MacOS X.
Select Setup...Mail Accounts...
This will bring up the following window:
Make sure the Use default settings box is unchecked and fill in the following information:
| Description | The description needs only to be a name by which you will recognize the account (e.g. My Deep Sky Account) |
| E-mail Address | Your email address is username@yourdomain.com |
| Real Name | Put your full name here (e.g. Joe Smith) |
Now click on the middle tab, Receiving, and the window changes to look like this:
Click on the arrow next to Advanced to pull down the advanced features. Make sure the box next to Leave copies of retrieved messages on the server is unchecked.
Fill in the following information:
| Protocol | The protocol is POP3 |
| User account ID | Your POP3 Account ID is username%yourdomain.com |
| Incoming mail server | The incoming mail server is mail.deepskytech.com |
| Password | Your password is personally given to you |
Checking the Save password box should save you from being required to enter your password every time you check your mail.
Now click on the right tab, Sending, and the window changes to look like this:
Make sure the box is checked for Authenticate as user and fill in the following information:
| Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server | Your SMTP server is yourdomain.com |
| User | Your SMTP login is username%yourdomain.com |
| SMTP Password | Your password is personally given to you and is the same as above |
Exit out of this window and click Save to save the changes when prompted to do so.
You are now ready to send and receive email with your Deep Sky account.
