Disptach It provides at this time only basic communications with United Parcel Service (UPS). Future betas will expand on the UPS functionality and provide support for other shipping providers and services which are available online.
You need to know that ITK v25x/v26x is required to make this functionality happen. You can purchase this directly from Deep Sky. In our "tree" of 4D products and components, Dispatch It will reside "above" HTTP Client Deux. So, you will be needing BASh, ITK v25x/v26x, TCP Deux, and HTTP Client Deux to take advantage of the Dispatch It functionality. Please refer to other sections of our web site for details on these products.
To take advantage of Dispatch It, you must have a UPS Online account for your own use. You can register for a UPS Online account directly at http://www.ec.ups.com/ecommerce/gettools/gtools_intro.html; this does not cost you anything at all as it is a free service from UPS. Register as an End User only, as all that you will need is an Access License Number, User ID, and Password for use with Dispatch It.
Keep in mind, Dispatch It will be not be a free product. We are tentatively (don't quote us on this yet) expecting a price of approximately $95 for a one year development license; we will probably be keeping the pricing about the same as exists for TCP Deux, so hopefully everyone will find this reasonable. The current Dispatch It beta does not have any licensing protection at all in it. So, we are asking that if you do use this software that you purchase it once it is fully released and available. We work on the honesty system with all of our clients and customers, so don't bring a guilty conscience down upon yourself...
Beta 2 merely adds support for all platforms (MacOS 9, MacOS X, and Windows) and all versions of 4D currently available (4D v67x, v68x, and v70x)...
Finally, please report any and all bugs, feature requests, comments, and suggestions to Deep Sky directly. For now, this is a closed beta, so please do not discuss this product in public just yet.
