TCP Deux v1.1.0 is shipping

TCP Deux is a 4th Dimension component which provides cross-platform TCP wrappers for different TCP plugins available for 4th Dimension. The plugins supported within TCP Deux include 4D Internet Commands v6.7.x, 4D Internet Commands v6.8.x, Internet ToolKit v2.0.x, and Internet ToolKit v2.5.x. Now compatible with 4D v6.8.x, as well!

With the TCP Deux component, a 4th Dimension developer can code TCP level routines without worrying about which particular plugin is going to be used. TCP Deux provides a very simple upgrade path for developers to write one set of code. With TCP Deux, a 4D developer can begin by using the free 4D Internet Commands for all TCP communications and upgrade to the commercial Internet ToolKit plugin when the needs arises, all without changing a single line of code.

This maintenace release provides a couple of minor bug fixes within the component, especially related to the serialization of the component. As well, significant improvements have been made to the manual including full documentation of all error codes. Compatibility with 4D v6.8.x has been added to this release, too.

This release supports running in demo mode. Demo mode allows for the component to be fully used for 30 minutes when no serial code is supplied to the TCP Deux component.

A full manual, explaining every call and feature available in TCP Deux, is included with the component.

The downloadable archives for TCP Deux are provided in both Macintosh and Windows formats, for your convenience. Both formats though include copies of the TCP Deux component and associated TCP plugins ready for use on either platform.

Pricing and Availability

TCP Deux has been released with separate development and deployment licensing. Development licensing includes all updates released within a year of purchase for free and allows for unlimited development by a single developer for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Renewals of the development license will be provided at a discounted price. Deployment licensing is a one time fee per application which allows unlimited deployments to run indefinitely.

 TCP Deux v1.1.0 - The latest beta of this component is available for both 4D v6.7.x and 4D v6.8.x.

The TCP Deux component has been fully carbonized. The current released version supports the carbonzied version of 4D, version 6.8.x. This provides seemless and transparent support for all of your 4th Dimension based applications on MacOS 8/9, MacOS X, and Windows 98/2000/XP/NT.
