DynamicStructure is a plugin that lets 4D developers dynamically get and set properties and contents of objects in the structure. It is a very powerful tool useful to all 4D developers. DynamicStructure allows for functionality never before possible in 4th Dimension, from automatic documentation to dynamic manipulation of objects. DynamicStructure covers a lot of features that can not be accessed currently with the 4D language or any other tool available to the 4D market. DynamicStructure is compatible with the following 4D versions and operating systems:
The downloadable archives for DynamicStructure v1.x are provided in both Macintosh (MacOS 8/9 and MacOS X) and Windows formats, for your convenience. Both formats though include copies of the DynamicStructure v1.x plugin ready for use on either platform.

DynamicStructure contains separate provisions for development (running a database interpretted) and deployment (running a database compiled) licensing. The spirit of the development license is thus: "one license per developer per platform". This means that if your company employs seven (7) developers, and that those seven developers all use the DynamicStructure plugin, then your company is obligated to purchase seven (7) developer licenses. This means too that a developer can use the DynamicStructure plugin on different machines: his computer at his office, his laptop, etc.... We hold this true since at one time, the developer is still the only one using the DynamicStructure plugin. For companies with multiple developers, additional developer licenses can be purchased at 50% off the initial developer license purchase price. This development license is per platform, though. Meaning, if the developer does development on Macintosh (considering MacOS 8/9 and MacOS X the same for this licensing), then a development license for a single platform is all that is needed. If development is to be done on both Macintosh and Windows, a cross-platform development license must be purchase. But, fear not, the cross-platform development license only costs 50% more than the single platform development license. Deployment licenses should be counted as one license for each CPU the DynamicStructure plugin is to be used on. Deployment licenses are not platform specific. Rather, a counting of the total number of machines running the DynamicStructure plugin is the end number of deployment licenses needed. Each developer license purchase includes ten (10) deployment licenses. And, additional deployment licenses can be purchased at a reduced price. So, for low volume and individual consultants, and in-house developers, a single developer license will often suffice for all needs. Deployment only becomes an issue for vertical market applications, large client/server installations, and other distributed applications utilizing the DynamicStructure plugin. For vertical market applications, counting the number of installations can become overly burdensome. Licensing for such situations can also be purchased for unlimited deployment within a single application. Unlimited deployment licensing within a single application is based on either a single platform application (Macintosh or Windows) or for both platforms (Macintosh and Windows). Neither development nor deployment licenses ever expire! Examples:
